Welcome to the ATSS Blog!

The ATSS Board of Directors believes in enhancing our communication, engagement, and presence, whether face-to-face or virtually worldwide. We seeks to provide an opportunity to each member the ability to connect with one another. Our organization is not an association that provides only opportunities for professional recognition through certification, but through our organization, we are committed to our community members that ethically support, empowers, and lifts each other.

Our blog is an important avenue that helps promote advocacy, education, empowerment, and networking with members, as well as non-members supporting the work of ATSS.

Through our blog, we seek:

  • New research
  • Reflection pieces
  • Field experiences
  • Job openings
  • Stimulating dialogue and comments
  • Success stories
  • Current articles (trauma-
  • based)
  • Member(s) recognition
  • Networking
  • And much more…

It is important that as ATSS members and trauma professionals, that we recognize that not everyone will agree with all submitted blog posts. We have may have members who will disagree with some factors within certain submitted pieces and have their positions backed up with peer-reviewed scholarly articles, quotes from leading researchers, etc. Brad Coulbeck, 2016 Vice-President of ATSS reminded us that, “even leaders in the field don’t agree on everything. Here at ATSS, we encourage that dialogue, but request that it be done respectfully and without personal attacks”.

If you are interested in becoming part of the committee, providing content for the blog and links to new research, or provide additional support, please contact us at [email protected].

We look forward to engaging with our ATSS community and fellow trauma professional around the world!
